On the LynxTWO/L22 the default routing has LS-ADAT In 1 Channels 1 through 8 assigned to Record devices 5 through 8. As an example, if Record 5 is selected as the record device in your audio application, you can record audio from ADAT In 1 Channels 1 and 2.

To access LS-ADAT In 2 with a LynxTWO or L22, one must manually configure Lynx record devices to access these input sources. Record devices 1-4, which are assigned to host card on-board inputs as a default, can be quickly changed to LS-ADAT inputs as needed.

From the Lynx Record/Play Mixer, physical inputs can be attached to Lynx record devices. Click the Input Source select button at the top of a channel strip for a menu of input sources. There are two sets of LStream inputs available here, both of which have 16 channels of input. The LS-ADAT will use all 16 channels of LStream 2.

For a real world example, let’s say that you want to record audio from LS-ADAT In 2 channels 3 and 4. From the Lynx Record/Play Mixer, click the Left Input Source Select button at the top of the Record/Play 2 channel strip. Choose “LStream 2” > “LS-ADAT In 2 Channel 3” as the input source for the left channel, and “LS-ADAT In 2 Channel 4” for the right channel.

In this state, selecting Record 2 as the source in your recording software will allow you to record audio from ADAT In 2, channels 3 and 4.

It is advisable to maintain the same channel arrangement that is used for outputs with inputs. For instance, when using the default configuration on the LynxTWO where Play 5 routes to LS-ADAT Out 1 Channels 1 and 2, it is ideal to assign Record 5 to receive signals from LS-ADAT In 1 Channels 1 and 2. This will minimize confusion when selecting record and play devices within an audio application.
