  • How many LStream cards can I add to each LynxTWO/L22 or AES16 card?
  • Since the LS-ADAT provides 16 channels of I/O, and the Lynx Mixer has 16-channels, what happens to the other I/O when I’m using the LS-ADAT card?
  • How can I access LS-ADAT outputs with a LynxTWO or L22?
  • How can I access LS-AES outputs with a LynxTWO or L22?
  • How can I access LS-ADAT outputs with an AES16?
  • How can I access LS-ADAT inputs with a LynxTWO or L22?
  • How can I access LS-AES inputs with a LynxTWO or L22?
  • How can I access LS-ADAT inputs with an AES16?
  • How do I record 96Khz through the inputs of the LS-ADAT?
  • How do I install a second LS-AES card for the LynxTWO/L22?
  • Can I record or play 192kHz audio with the LS-AES?
  • How do I use ADAT sync as a clock source with the LS-ADAT card?
  • My LS-AES is supposed to be an 8-in/8-out card, but I only see 4 male and 4 female XLR connections. What gives?

How can I access LS-AES outputs with a LynxTWO or L22?
All OS

With a single 8-channel LS-AES installed, the default routing for these digital outputs is through Lynx Mixer output channels 9-16, which are accessible from an audio application by selecting Lynx Play devices 5-8. For instance, to route audio through LS-AES Out 1, choose Lynx Play 5 as the audio device from within the audio software.

With two LS-AES cards installed, Lynx Mixer output channels 1 through 8 already route to physical outputs on-board, so the outputs from the second LS-AES will run in conjunction with the included outputs on the host card. For example, if audio is sent to Play 1 from an audio application, this signal will be routed to the LS-AES #2 Out 1, as well as Analog Out 1 and 2 on the LynxTWO/L22.

This orientation can be altered so that audio sent to LS-AES #1 is sent from Lynx Mixer outputs 1 through 8 (Play devices 1 through 4), and LS-AES #2 from Lynx Mixer outputs 9 through 16 (Play devices 5 through 8), by choosing “1-8/9-16” from the Output Select section of the LStream window in the Lynx Mixer. The default setting is “9-16/1-8”.

The graphic above shows the default routing of LS-AES channels to Lynx Mixer output channels with the “Output Select” switch set to “9-16/1-8”.

The graphic above shows the alternate routing of LS-AES channels to Lynx Mixer output channels with the “Output Select” switch set to “1-8/9-16”. Additionally, the presence of a shorting jumper on the JP4 pin on an LS-AES card will establish whether it is using LStream 1 or LStream 2.
