Windows 2000/XP The Lynx Version 2 (WDM) driver supports multi-channel playback using AES16 device 1. To effectively monitor 5.1 audio, 6 discreet outputs are necessary. In this case AES16 Stereo Digital Outs 1-3 will be used.
To utilize this feature:
- To play back Dolby or DTS encoded sources, Dolby or DTS decoding software must be utilized.
- The most current Lynx firmware is required. Visit http://www.lynxstudio.com/support_downloads.asp for the latest firmware updater.
- The Windows speaker configuration needs to be on “5.1 surround sound speakers”. To set this, go to Control Panel> Sounds and Audio Devices> Audio> Default Device/Advanced> Speaker Setup = 5.1 surround sound speakers
- When playing back 5.1 surround encoded audio, the channel distribution is: Left/Right = Digital Out 1 L/R; Center = Digital Out 2 L; Sub= Digital Out 2 R; Rears = Digital Out 3.
