  • I have an external clock source for use with my AES16 card. Is it preferable to use the wordclock BNC connections or just supply clock via the AES/EBU digital connections?
  • What is the difference between the AES16 and AES16-SRC

  • Can I use my Lynx card with two applications at the same time?
  • This is supposed to be a 16-in/16-out card, but I only see 16 XLR connections. What gives?
  • What is the maximum cable length that’s been tested with the AES16?
  • If I’m using a dual-wire A/D converter and a single-wire D/A converter, what impact would that have on the AES16’s channel routing?
  • Can I use my AES16 card to play back 5.1 surround audio?

How can I monitor multiple input sources through a specific output?
All OS

The Lynx Outputs Mixer allows routing of up to 4 input sources to any output. Please note: With Firmware Rev 25 for the AES16, or Firmware Rev 7 for the AES16e, and current Windows or OS X drivers, then 10 sources per output are available.

As pictured, there are four Output Monitor Source buttons above the faders on each output channel of the Lynx Outputs Mixer. A mouse click on one of these buttons launches a menu of record and playback sources. Selecting record sources causes input signals to be routed to the output.

By assigning record sources to each of the four Output Monitor Source select positions in an output’s channel strip, four input sources can be directly monitored through a single output.
