It is essential that the analog inputs on the Lynx card be connected to the outputs of a low-impedance, line-level audio device. Otherwise, stray signals, including those from the Lynx card’s analog outputs, can be picked up by the un-terminated inputs. Leaving the audio breakout cable unplugged from the LynxTWO/L22 still allows signals to be picked up and will produce a level indication on the Lynx Mixer. When the inputs are properly terminated, the noise rejection is excellent.
Ultimately, if the inputs are not connected presumably recording will not be taking place. The signals picked up by the inputs will not effect playback quality as long as input monitoring has not been activated in the Lynx Outputs Mixer.
