Lynx and Mix magazine are teaming up to give you the definitive guide to choosing the right converter for your audio production. Whether you have a recording studio, post production, mastering facility, or a pro-level home studio, this informative 45 minute presentation will give you industry expert Kevin Becka’s thoughts on this topic.

“In a time when more and more projects are created in a multiplatform environment—such as tracking in Pro Tools, mixing in Nuendo and using Sequoia for mastering—a flexible, accurate and great-sounding digital conversion system is a must and forms the core of today’s production studio,” explains Mix Technical Editor Kevin Becka, the Webinar’s presenter. “This informative webinar will explore the need for flexible multichannel digital audio conversion systems and how to integrate them into today’s studio.

“We’ll discuss basics of the conversion process (including understanding the clocking process), the various types of digital I/O formats (such as AES/EBU, ADAT, AES-16, AES-16e, FireWire, USB, MADI), installation requirements, monitoring/latency issues and ways of future-proofing your system. Another topic is interfacing with all of the current Mac or PC DAW systems—including Pro Tools 9, and what you’ll need, whether you’re working entirely within the box or integrating your DAW with a console and/or analog outboard gear.”

“Kevin Becka is the ideal choice for this topic. He has used and reviewed virtually every high end converter over the last 20 years,” stated Phil Moon, VP Sales and Marketing of Lynx Studio Technology. “He is also an educator, so he can give accurate and useful explanations of the various requirements for converters and how to weed through the options to make the best choice for your studio. In addition to Kevin, engineers and designers from Lynx will be online during the webinar to answer questions in real time, to make this an interactive session.”

Lynx Studio Technology offers the Aurora line of 8 and 16 channel AD/DA converters, along with a wide variety of interfaces. Lynx supports all major audio production applications on both Mac and Windows platforms.

Who Should Attend?

Staff and independent audio engineers, producers, tracking and mix engineers, studio designers, remix engineers, sound designers, production mixers and remote engineers—from novices to seasoned pros.
