Lynx Studio Technology Announces Commitment to PCI Express Format

First product will be the AES16e based on the popular Lynx AES16

ANAHEIM, CA - JANUARY 18, 2007 The 2007 Winter NAMM Show was the site of Lynx Studio Technology’s announcement concerning the company’s commitment to developing PCI Express audio interfaces. Several new models, beginning in early 2007, will complement their industry-leading line of PCI audio cards, which will still be available.

“With Apple and other computer companies making more PCI Express computers available, we have listened to our customers’ requests for PCIe interfaces that offer Lynx’s audio quality, driver stability and reliability,” stated David A. Hoatson, company co-founder. “The PCI Express format presents us with many interesting options for expanding the Lynx line and offering our customers some added capabilities for these powerful new computers.”

The first Lynx PCIe product will be the AES16e, which is an x1 PCI Express card that provides 16 channels of 24 bit AES/EBU digital audio at a 192 kHz sample rate in both single-wire and dual-wire AES modes. Designed to integrate digital consoles, multichannel A/D and D/A converters, hard disk recorders, digital audio workstations and other digital audio equipment, the AES16e is compatible with Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

“The architecture and higher bandwidth of PCI Express reduces bottlenecks and overhead that allow us to set the bar even higher for computer-based high end audio,” stated Bob Bauman, company co-founder.
