Hey,

I have an lynx aurora 16 with an LT USB installed. I have used it many times with my MAC. I can't be sure i have tried it since I have installed Sierra. However, the problem is just the other day the sound card shows up ( in Reaper and Ableton live ) with no inputs. I only see the outputs. I can confirm that I see the converters lighting up on the inputs LED's. So the converters seem ok. I have tried swapping USB cables no luck.

Has anyone had this problem?
Best,
Tim

Hi Tim,

Look in the Aurora Remote Control software, on the Digital page.
Where it shows parameters on the left part of the page, there is one labeled "LSLOT Record Source 1-8", is that set to analog or digital? It should be  on Analog.

Hey, yes checked that and it was set correctly (record source analog). Checked everything else and is set correctly too. Should I update the firmware to the latest version? Possibly an incompatibility with Sierra?

You should have firmware 10 on your LT-USB.  Please check in Aurora Remote Control and see what version is on the LT-USB, and update it if needed.

Hi yes, I did that ( updated to the latest drivers )  and it still does not display inputs. In fact now it will not even see the aurora when I try to launch the software remote control. it says "unable to locate an Aurora". I want to confirm that this is working fine on Windows 7 so it has something to do with Sierra (10.1.3) and the drivers. Is there a way to fix this?

Not the drivers, the firmware on the LT-USB itself.  Download AuroraUpdate to check the firmware version of the LT-USB.  I recommend doing the actual update on your Windows 7 computer since we know that will work properly.  There is an on-going issue in updating the firmware on macOS that is still unresolved.

Hi,
i've the same problem with an aurora8 and LT-FW.
Aurora remote cannot find the interface but works fine when recording.
Above, you mentioned there is an ongoing problem of updating the firmware using osx sierra.
What firmware for both aurora and lt-fw do i need to get the remote going again ?
best regards
DAHAM

Hi, when I try to install the LT USB updater on windows it crashes and tells me it cannot find the interface. I did system restore and my USB AUDIO CLASS DRIVER CONTROL PANEL says the driver version is 1.63.0 and DLL API version as 4.0. Do I need to update this to version 10 somehow?

https://www.lynxstudio.com/downloads/aurora-8/aurora-firmware-updater-windows/" rel="nofollow - https://www.lynxstudio.com/downloads/aurora-8/aurora-firmware-updater-windows/

says it will respond to LT-USB with version 10.
I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Hi,
I figured this problem out. I needed to choose a new file path for the updator I already had a folder with the path name it wanted to use and thus was confused...anyway long story short I was able to update the LT-USB and can confirm that it now works with SIERRA both input and output.

Thanks for the support!

Hi David-  Is there any update to being able to update the LT-USB firmware from a Mac?  I have v5 and need to update to v10.  I have the same issue of not being able to select Aurora 16 as an input device from within Audio/Midi Setup utility since updating to High Sierra.

thanks,
Justin

Updating from rev 5 is tricky. With any other firmware version you would likely have no trouble. In this case it may make more sense for you to send it to us for the LT-USB update. For a return authorization, send your name, address, phone number, and serial number to support@lynxstudio.com.

I have a windows laptop if I can update it from there? I’d really prefer not sending it in if there’s a chance that would work.

It is fairly easy to update from FW5 to FW10 on a Windows machine. Just install the V3.34 driver for Windows and run the Aurora or Hilo updater (whichever you have) and select the LT-USB as the device to update.
