Subject: very odd playback in 16 channel mode on AES16e

I have an AES-16e and when playing back a file recorded at 48hz/24 bit(either here or at a pro studio) I get the dreaded pops. This only occurs when the AES mixer is set to 16 channel mode. When set to 8 channel mode everything plays back fine, even files that were printed while the machine was set to 16 mode.  Even without anything connected to Port B(usually have a Midas XL48 pre hooked to port B and slaved), in 16 channel mode files sound corrupted played through AES 1+2 from port A. I'm using the AES 16e as Master clock with a Lucid 88192 slaved through the AES cables from port A.
I bought this card used on Epray so I guess I'm stuck but wondering if there is a solution without having to buy another one, I want to stick to the AES format. I should mention that I have a LS-ADAT card hooked up as well but not using it right now. Is there a way to have Lynx repair it?
system : Windows 7 64 bit, Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-UP4 motherboard.
Using firmware 13.1(tried 13.2 and 12.2) build 22
Thanks in advance

It doesn't sound likely to be a hardware problem per se, more likely some conditions with the system. What DAW are you using?
In the Motherboard BIOS have you disabled Speedstep (EIST) and C States? With the GigaByte boards those settings can be hard to find, but it can make a big difference.

Have you tried putting the card into a different PCIe slot?

If worse comes to worse, do you have access to another computer you can test it in?

Thanks Paul,
I did think to try another slot, will do that tomorrow and if that doesn't work I do have another computer
to try it out on. And thanks for the motherboard tweaks, reminds me of the interupt issues of old. Will let you know the results.
