Hello all,

My system consists of a recording console, a 16 track analog tape machine, and an Aurora 16.

The way it is currently wired is in a sort-of  Heart love triangle Heart

Console pres -> Tape
Tape -> Converters
Converters -> Console Tape Returns

While recording music on tape, the tape machine is feeding the lines on my console via the aurora 16 for monitoring purposes.

My question is: Is this direct feed off of the aurora a true analog passing of the audio, OR, is it a digital feed with very little latency? I always suspected the former and not the latter but I do not know.

Thanks!
R.

Hi,

Whatever is connected to Aurora's Inputs go through A/D and D/A before they are outputted. This is true even if TO ANALOG OUT is set to ANALOG IN.
