Hello,

I just recently picked up a used Lynx Aurora 8... I owned one several years back and really liked it.

So I have a brand new LT-USB card I just installed and I noticed that the syncrolock says "LOCKED" but the 4 status bars are blank. They aren't lit green. It did the same thing with the LT-FW card.

Now I remember several years back when I had a Aurora that it usually took a minute or so for syncrolock to actually lock and it would blink until it was locked as well as have 4 green bars under the "LOCKED" status. This would also happen anytime I change the sample rate.

But when I turn my Aurora on with or without a USB cable connected it's instantly already locked. No blinking or sync time. It's just instantly saying syncro lock is achieved.

I bought this unit used and I'm hoping nothing is wrong with it. Does anyone here have any ideas?

Sounds like it is working normally to me.  When the Aurora is clocked internally, then SynchroLock will be locked instantly.

Hi David,

So you're saying on USB the 4 green bars in the Remote Panel are not supposed to light green? When I had my last unit several years ago with the AES16 card... It would say locked and also have 4 green lights on the status bars. It would also take a while for sample rates to lock.

In USB mode this is normal for everything to be instantaneous, even when switching sample rates and lock instantly?

I just want to make sure the unit is taking advantage of the 3000:1 lock ratio

Thanks Again,
Aaron

SynchroLock doesn't need to spend time locking to an external signal when the unit is clocked internally.  It just locks immediately.  No need for a progress report when the result is immediate.
