Buying Aurora 16 TB for PC - what else do I need?
I assume I need to buy a TB PCI-E Card for the computer that does TB 2 or 3 level? What cables to I need from the Aurora to the PCI-E Card? What analog in and out cables do I need? Can I use the same ones I use with my current Aurora 16? I am excited about the new products! THANKS so much, AB

Hi AB,
There are not third party PCIe cards to provide thunderbolt support to a PC. There are some motherboard specific cards of this type, but only for use with a compatible, thunderbolt-ready, motherboard. Asus has some boards of this type. Otherwise, you would need a new motherboard already equipped with thunderbolt. If the system has thunderbolt 1+2, you just need a standard thunderbolt 1/2 cable. If the system has thunderbolt 3, you will need an adapter like this, and then a TB 1/2 cable in addition. The Analog and AES cables would be the same that you use currently.

Paul - my motherboard - has a Thunderbolt 3 output. So I get the converter to thunderbolt 2. And then do I only need ONE cable to connect to the Aurora for going into the computer and going out of the computer? I say this because there is only one Thunderbolt 3 connector on the computer (USB-C I believe). Currentlly I have two cables going from my old Aurora 16 to the Lynx AES16e. And I suppose I do not need the AES16e anymore! So strange not having an audio card in the computer!

Hi AB,
Yes, a single cable...Thunderbolt is bi-directional. |
