Hi There,

I am about to expand my current set-up and, since all other I/O's on my Hilo are used bar the optical, I will go the ADAT route.
I know that I can select ADAT as optical out mode in Digital I/O settings on the Hilo, but I am curious whether or not I will see more Inputs and Outputs (8X) on the ALL I/O Metering Display on the Hilo?
Will I have any individual routing options with the ADAT signals?
Will they show up as separate inputs and outputs in my DAW?
The maximum quality supported is 24Bit, 48kHZ for each of the 8 I/O's, correct?

Thanks for all of your help Smile  I need to be a little more certain before going this route...

Still Loving the StarHILOStar!!

Cheers,
Nicholas

When you wish to use the ADAT I/O. it is recommended to put the Hilo into 16 channel mode from the Tools page. You would also change the Optical Out Mode from the Home page to "ADAT". In that state you will see 16 Play and Record channels on the All I/O page, but not the ADAT channels. You would see the ADAT channels in the Hilo Remote however. You can set the other Hilo Meter options to show ADAT channels in Pairs too.

The ADAT channels will default to Play and Record 9-16. You can route ADAT pairs just like any other Hilo channel pairs. They will show up in your DAW as channels 9-16 in pairs, but you can change that in the Output Mix Routing Page if you wish.

They ADAT I/O supports 8 channels at sample rates up ti 48kHz. You get 4 channels at 88.2/96k.

Excellent - Thanks very much...
Sorry, I realised after posting that most of the answers were in the Hilo Manual but still great to know that the ADAT channels will show up in the Hilo Remote...
An excellent way to expand the Hilo to its full potential.
Thumbs Up
