Hey guys,

I'm on the fence about adding a Hilo to my setup.  I would like to be able to control my existing Aurora 8 from the Hilo Remote.  In essence I would like to replace my legacy AES16-SRC/Lynx mixer, with the Hilo and Hilo Remote mixing software.

I understand from another thread that I could probably use an LT-ADAT in the Aurora 8, but these are no longer in production and listed as legacy.   Is there any way to see all 8 channels on the Aurora through the AES/EBU connections of the Hilo/Aurora or another option?

Thanks

Brent

Hi Brent,

I'm afraid the ADAT connection is the only way to achieve what you are after. Is this for a Mac or Windows PC?

I'm on PC

Intel 5820 6 core, Windows 10 on a Gigabyte X99P-SLI
It has Thunderbolt 3 through the new intel chip ( along with USB 3.1 ) I know your TB card doesn't have a USB C connector so I may just have to go USB for now, unless I want to deal with a converter.

You'll get better performance with thunderbolt, and the option of mixing an Aurora/TB with a Hilo/TB. We have done some preliminary testing of TB3 > TB2 converters and they seem to work OK. With USB, you could not use An Aurora/USB with a Hilo/USB.
