I use Aurora 16 with the LT-HD card together with Avid HD/IO interface on ProTools HDX 11.3.1.

All I need is to use 8 analog inputs and 8 digital outputs on the Aurora. This has been working well in the past, but after moving from TDM to HDX i am not getting the analog ins into protools. After reading other posts on this forum, I get the feeling that it is not possible to use Auroras analog ins and digital outs at the same time. Is this correct? And if it is possible, do you have any suggestion of what I might be doing wrong?

Best,

Bighill

I did not find any ways to edit the post, below, so this is a correction.

What I need from my Aurora 16 is to use 8 analog ins, 8 digital ins, and 8 digital outs.

Hi,

Did you recently update Aurora firmware? If so, it is possible that the routing changed in the Aurora.

You would need a MIDI interface (as you do with updating), connect both MIDI IN and OUT and run the Aurora Remote Control. In the DIGITAL I/O and SETTINGS tab, set the LSLOT (LT-HD) Record 1-8 Source to Analog In 1-8 and the Record 9-16 Source to Analog In 9-16. My hope is that it they are set to Digital In on yours currently? I had an Aurora 8-USB in my Aurora's pic but it is the same principle…

Thank you for answering.  I´m not sure if I understand what you mean with setting analog source in the digital setting, and  analog source in the analog setting? my point is that i would like to have input 1-8 set for analog, AND input 9-16 for digital. (or vice versa) AND 8 of the outputs to digital. Is that possible?

The "Rec Source" pulldowns determine which inputs (analog or digital) are routed to the LT card and into PT (or some other DAW) for recording.

You mentioned that you are not getting your Analog Inputs into PT, therefore you have to make sure that REC SOURCE 1-8 is set for ANALOG IN 1-8 in Aurora Remote Control's DIGITAL I/O and SETTINGS tab.

Is the Aurora appearing in Pro Tools as a 192 or HD I/O? Is it showing up as one or two units?

OK, so if your analog inputs to Aurora do not appear in PT, please follow the steps I posted and let us know if the issue is resolved.
