Hi,
i hope someone can help us.
We're screwed right now because we updated to 10.11 by following the instructions.

Driver: 58B
AES16E: Version 2016.05.18
Aurora 8 (2x): Firmware 28

The analogs are working. (All channels tested).
But not the AES16E Digital IO:
We only have Analog 1-8 and Digital 5-8 as RECORD INPUT. (New Lynx Mixer)

Before we had 16 Digital in an out.

Aurora Remote is configured to:

A2D: REMOTE
D2A: REMOTE

The kernel shows us.(dmesg).

aes16e 16 channel mode.

In the audio systemsettings we have: 16 in and outs on PCIe AES16 Device.

Ao basicalle, for my understanding, the Digital IO works properly.
We cannot mix right now, because we need to go via digital IO.
Any help would be very, very appreciated.
Can post screenshots later.

Thx. in advance
Franz

Additional Info.
It seems as if lynx mixer only sees one interface.
What is weird is, that when we select output 3-4 digital (Logic) it send the signal to 1-2 analog but not 3-4 digital. It should use 3-4 to 3-4 digital.

Rgds.

Digital I/O is stereo, so uses a different naming convention. Digital Out 5 has a left AND right channel. The Analog channels have a mono naming convention.

Everything would work fine closer to the default settings.
In the Lynx Mixer, click the Mixer menu and choose "restore defaults"
In the Aurora, your front panel settings should be:
SYNC SOURCE = AES A
TO ANALOG OUT = "AES IN"
TO DIGITAL OUT = "Analog In"
METER = "Analog"

In this state, record and play channels 1-8 will be the analog I/O from the Aurora. Channels 9-16 will be the digital I/O.

Let me know if you are still having trouble with this.

thanks for your reply.
We changed the routing and the playback works now.
But we're not sure if the AES16e recognizes BOTH Aurora8.
As you see on the screenshots, we have 8 stereo digital I/O channels available, but only DI5/LR->DI8/LR to select.
In our opinion, we should have DI1/LR->DI8/LR available to select from.
As ist was with the old Lynx Mixer app.
We're testing the latency mixer and recording tonight.
We'll report back tomorrow. (CET)

Thanks in advance

Franz

Hi Paul,
it works for now (recording and playback via latency mixer and digital I/O)
but we think the labelling could be better.
Perhaps that will be fixed in a future release.
Many thanks for your help.

Thanks for the feedback. The reason we use the stereo labeling for the digital I/O is because it corresponds to the cables we provide. Digital Out 1 in this case carries 1 left AND 1 right. It certainly can be confusing though, sorry for the trouble

Hi Paul,
OK, will keep that in mind.
What we also had to do was to reset the aurora via the well known key combination,
mentioned in this thread.
We updated both auroras after the OS upgrade to FW28B, thought we had to, obviously not. ;-)

Rads.
