So I have a couple of Hilo's feeding digtial to a AES16e-50 card.

Would you advice me to use the Hilo's clock to WC the Aes16e, or the other way around?

Obviously the easiest is to clock the hilo's (and daisy chain the rest of my digital gear from those again) from the internal/AES16e-WC-output. Then everything switches automatically down the line whenever I load a 48k or 44k project into the PC - but maybe the Hilo-clock is that much better its worth changing manually for each project/file loaded with different rate?   Any advice?

Best,
Eirik

Hi Eirik,

According to our chief hardware engineer, it is better to use the clock closest to the converter. So, in this case, make the Hilo the master and the AES16e-50 the slave.

It is not too much of an issue in your setup though, since both devices use our SynchroLock technology when slaving to external clock.

Thanks a lot Michael, and as I have two Hilo's -  then (If I understand correctly), his advice is this :

Silver hilo = Master - WC clock out to Black Hilo - then to AES16e - then further down the line..

Or is it:  Silver Hilo = Master - WC to AES16e - back to Black Hilo - then further on.. ?

Best
Eirik

Nice!! "I'll see your silver Hilo and raise you a black one." Wink

Hmmm...I would think Hilo --> Hilo --> AES16e especially if that means 2 of the 3 WC cables are kept shorter...
