Hi Paul. I'm implementing a personal monitoring system over cat5 in my studio and I need 16 out routed in 16 in of the powerplay, then digitally converted in a single cat5 for 16 ch. audio distribution to 6 personal mixers. Unfortunately the outs (tape outs) of my old console (Soundcraft TS12) are occupied. I would to ask you if it's useful to purchase an additional LT-ADAT to have more output routing options. I have Lynx Aurora on Aes16e with new Lynx mixer. I should be able to see more adat outputs on the mixer, right? If not, how can I "add" more outputs for the analog inputs of the powerplay?

Thank you and keep your purism. ;)

The LT-ADAT would not add any channels at all and would not help you. The LS-ADAT, when connected to your AES16e card would add 16 channels of ADAT I/O to your existing 16 channels of AES. The LS/LT-ADAT cards are discontinued though so it may be a little tricky to get a hold of one.

Good luck!

Ok, so let's suppose that I will be lucky and find a used LS-Adat card. If I connect the LS card to my aes16e will I see other 16 adat outs? And if yes, could I route all 16 zero latency input signals from the aes card? It is a little bit cumbersome, but should work, no?

The driver can be configured to start in 32-channel mode now.  If you select that mode in Lynx Mixer, you will see all 32-outputs right now.  Because you don't have a LS-ADAT connected to the AES16e, they just don't go anywhere.  Short answer: Yes.  You can do low latency monitoring from the AES inputs to the ADAT outputs and vice-versa.
Thank you,
