trying to update to the newest firmware for my lynx aurora 8 with lt hd card.  I keep getting errors like time out when its installing the new firmware.  currently the unit is on ver 25.  Are there any detailed instructions on this?  the ones in the manual are kind of un clear to me and i read a bunch of other posts trying to figure this out.

Make sure that the digilink cable is disconnected when you attempt the update. 
Otherwise, send an email to support@lynxstudio.com requesting help for this process and I can email you some more detailed instructions.
