Topic: Lynx Aurora 16 Yosemite Problem - clicks and pops Posted: April/15/2015 at 4:11pm |
Hello, I have an issue with my Lynx Aurora 16.
After installing Yosemite on my Mac Pro I have noticed there are several clicks and pop sounds on any audio I record. I have ruled out mics, preamps, cables and DAW's (occurs on both ProTools 11 and Logic Pro X). It used to click and pop occasionally on playback only on OSX through Logic 9, but after installing Yosemite it is now on all audio I record. Have a listen... https://www.wetransfer.com/downloads/ca19e4184e80ddf7455a3617a3e4357c20150415223704/525c7fb4ec9120c6ac78e3a5b437912b20150415223704/403097 Also(it may be a separate issue), but the firmware update can't locate the Aurora? If anyone can advise or share a link to a similar thread that would be great. Cheers. Hi,
There are a few questions I have for you, seeing your setup: 1. How are the AES16e and Aurora clocked together? 2. What driver is installed for the AES16e? The latest is here. 3. What firmware is on the AES16e? The latest is here. (#2 and #3 can be found in the ABOUT in the Lynx Mixer) 4. Does this happen at all sample rates? 5. If so, is the clicking different for different rates? With the latest drivers, you cannot update Aurora through the AES16e. You will need a MIDI interface such as a MIDISPORT 1x1. Likewise, you would update your LT-HD the same way (via MIDI). We are now on LT-HD Firmware 11. Are you using the TDM system or the newer HDX or HD NATIVE cards? If the latter, you definitely should update to 11. |

Mike stated the facts incorrectly.
You can certainly update the Aurora just fine using an AES16e with the current AuroraUpdate and Build 57A driver. It is not possible to update the LT-HD using the AES16e since that is not a normal combination (most people that use the LT-HD only connect the Aurora to a ProTools HD card and don't have an AES16e). To update the LT-HD you must use a MIDI connection. |

Thanks for the reply Mike. Here is the info from the Lynx mixer- Lynx Aurora Remote Control Version 1.0 Build 18H Build Date Mar 31 2014 Aurora 16 on AES16e in slot-3 Serial Number: 2608102296 PCB Rev:B Firmware Rev: 27 LT-HD PCB Rev:B Firmware Rev:5 Sync source - Internal Sample rate - 48khz to analog out - Aes in to digital out - Analog in (SyncroLock ticked) The clicking is present/different at other sample rates. Seems to be worse the higher you go. Thanks,
