Hello,

I'm having problems getting the following to work..

Pro tools >  audio out > Hilo LT USB >

then via Hilo ADAT out to

Aurora 8 LT-ADAT IN.

Then that to feed hardware via DB 25 analog out

Processed signal to return via DB25 analog in

Down to LT-ADAT OUT  to Hilo Adat in and via LT-USB to pro tools..

Can anybody shed light on the routing?  I'm admittedly very confused!!

Many thanks.

Ben.

What sample rate are you trying to work at?

Everything should work fine, but we do recommend running a word clock cable from the Hilo Clock Out to the Aurora Clock In.  Then set the Aurora to SYNC SOURCE: EXT.

Routing on the Aurora should be TO ANALOG OUT: LSLOT IN; TO DIGITAL OUT: ANALOG IN.

Hilo's default routing should work OK. Just make sure you are in 16-channel mode on the Hilo.
Thank you,

Thanks for the reply David.

I'm testing this at 44.1

I am clocking via wordclock, syncrolock green light is on.

I have both units at latest firmware etc.

If i reset defaults then change to 16 channel mode and set optical out to ADAT i can see signal going out of adat 1&2 and 3&4 but only returning on ADAT IN 4?

All good cables etc.

If I go into the output routing page and assign ADAT 5&6 signal goes out and come s back in what seems like the right way but if i do the same for ADAT 7&8 i get no ADAT IN return?

Any ideas?

Thanks again.

Ben.

Does the Aurora show 44.1 on the front panel?
Does the Aurora show EXT as the SYNC SOURCE on the front panel?
If you set METER to ANALOG, does you see meters for the inputs and outputs?

All 8 channels of ADAT are carried on the same cable, so if you are getting some channels and not others, you should check your external gear.  Optionally, just loopback the analog from the Aurora back to itself.  Then you can check all 8 channels at once.

Thank you again David for the helpful and speedy reply.

I think after trouble shooting some more the problem lies in a defective d-sub cable.

The ADAT returns are all working fine when i send a mic signal through the chain individually.

Apologies to have wasted any of your time.

Regards

Ben.
