After having major stability problems using Vegas with my Aurora 8 LT-USB setup, I attempted to update to the latest firmware.  The LT-USB firmware updated okay, but the Aurora is failing and reporting "ProgramEEPROM: SelectLSlotFirmware Failed"  Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Log file excerpt is listed below.

Many thanks for looking.

You could try restoring defaults on the Aurora before attempting again, but the Aurora firmware will have Nothing at all to do with the performance issue you describe. For you, there would be no benefit to going from 27 to 28.

If you wish to troubleshoot it though, here would be the steps:

1 Unplug the USB cable
2 Turn OFF aurora
3 Unplug Aurora AC cord
4 hold down SAMPLE RATE button on Aurora front panel WHILE plugging in the AC cord
5 Release SAMPLE RATE button
6 Turn Aurora on
7 Set TO ANALOG OUT to "LSLOT IN"
7 Power cycle Aurora with front panel power button
8 Plug in USB cable

Then try the update again.

Let me know if you're still having trouble,

Hi Paul,

I followed your procedure carefully, but I'm getting the same result.  I am hoping that by updating the firmware it will also allow me to make sync source selections without having to unplug the USB cable.

That said, is there anything else I can do about Vegas/Windows/Lynx crashes?

Thanks

Don

The Aurora firmware update will make no difference at all to any aspect of how the system works for you. The Sync Source selections with the USB connection need to be made from the Aurora Remote software, not from the front panel.

Are you typically running the SYNC SOURCE on "Internal"? With the USB connection, that is recommended.

What is the context of the crashes in Vegas? Is it load related (i.e. only big projects)? Does the buffer size make a difference? Are there error messages? Do other DAWs work on the same system without this problem?
