On my new Hilo, I've noticed that the SPDIF optical in level is significantly lower than the USB play level.  It's easily manageable via the Hilo remote control, but it's got me wondering whether this is normal.

The Optical SPDIF is coming out of my Motif 6 (the original version), and I've bumped up the output level on the Motif +18db, but it's still much lower than the incoming USB play level.

Does that sound right to folks?

Thanks.

To determine actual level being sent, you would need to look at the Output Mix Routing Page or the All I/O Page and see the difference between the two outputs in question.  It is quite likely that the Motif 6 just has a much lower overall output than the Hilo.  For instance, the Hilo's LINE OUT can have 0dBFS = +24dBu.  What is the max output level for the Motif 6 at 0dBFS?
Thank you,
