I need help!
I upgraded to Mountain Lion, I have a Lynx Aurora 16 connected through a LT-FW card.  There´s a serious conflict when I try to get from one Sample Rate to another (two separate PT sessions with different Sample Rates).  The Aurora tries to change its sample rate and immediately reboots my Mac Pro. What driver should I download and what steps should I follow?
Thank you very much!

There is no driver to download. We use the native Mac FireWire driver. Does this happen with any other DAW? What version of PT?

Also, are there any other FW devices connected?

Hi Mike , thank you for replying
I´m using PT 10.3.9, I don't have another other dAW.
No other Fw connected.
The thing is , even with PT not open, I try to change the sample rate of the Aurora 16 in Audio Midi setup (Applications/utilities), it causes to reboot my mac pro.
PLus, I cannot seem to be able to unlock or change anything directly in the Aurora Remote Software and I don't have other Aurora software installed.
what else can I check?
thank you very much!

Hi Juan,

You are very welcome.

What is the firwmare of the Aurora and LT-FW? You can see this in ARC under Aurora/About Remote Control

I do not think resetting Aurora will help but it is worth a try...

1. Power down the Aurora
2. Pull the AC power cable
3. Press and hold the Sample Rate button while plugging the unit back in.
4. Wait about 2 seconds, release the Sample Rate button
5. Power up the Aurora with the front panel switch.

I would also try another FW cable in case that one developed a short, etc.

Is it a "simple" reboot or an actual kernal panic?

I think it is not a Kernel Panic, because the Black screen with the Message "you have to restart your computer" DOES NOT appear.  It just freezes , and reboots.  Exclusively (at least till now) when the aurora tries to change the sample rate .   I tried changing the master clock directly in the aurora from internal to Lslot.  The problem persists.
I will reset the aurora and change the firewire cable and I will write you ASAP.

What type of Mac are you using? It seems as though you may need a fresh clean install of the OS as there appears to be some corruption. We say this since we simply use the OS' driver...

Reseted the aurora and changed the FW cable.  It started to work for a moment, I was able to go from a session 44.1 to another 48 khz and back again without problems.  I shut down the computer to see if the problem was gone for good.  Turned back on ,  but it continued to happen.  The rebooting problem

My mac pro is early 2009

Processor  2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

Memory  8 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC

as a matter of fact, I re installed everything , osx 10.8.5 is a new install, PT 1039 and the drivers, even the Aurora firmwares.  The Startup disc is Brand new, a 1tb Hitachi stardesk ...   I got rid of the old startup disc thinking that this problem will go away but it haven´t.

Starting to worry a lot, what else can it be?

Is there any other computer you can connect to? We need to start removing pieces to see where the issue is....
