I am planning on getting an Aurora 16 soon. Eventually, I want to also get some nice preamps to use with it, but I'm starting with the converter.

I currently have an old Presonus DigiMax LT 8-channel preamp. It has ADAT out, and also 1/4" sends on each channel.

Can I use those 1/4" sends to the Aurora, hopefully bypassing the converter on the presonus?

Thanks.

Yes that would be the preferred connection.

Aurora has DB25 connectors to you would need a DB25-to-TRS-M snake. Make sure the DB25 is TASCAM format (most analog snakes are).

Are the Sends +4 or -10?  You would set Aurora to match the level.

Thanks for the response, Mike. How do I find out if the sends are +4 or -10? I'm looking at the manual but can't find the info there...

The Inserts are combo sends and returns, unbalanced, so I am guessing -10.

The easiest thing is to just try switching the Aurora and see which setting yields the healthiest levels.
