Hi,

I use an innerclock systems cynqlock device to generate stable midi clock for my synths and drum machines.

If you don’t already know; these devices need to be connected to a pair of outputs from the audio interface. The device comes with a software which is initiated within a DAW and when used together, stable midi master clock is generated from within the DAW.
I can use this device without any problems with my previous audio interface (motu hd192 pci-ex)I checked it again and it still works with motu.

Normally without the mentioned software and DAW initiated the device does not start generating any type of midi clock and the front light stays red meaning no clock is being generated. This is how it is supposed to behave.

But when i connect it to Aurora the green and white lights start to flash right away and the device starts generating very unstable midi clock that makes my sequencers and drum machines go crazy. The green and white leds are showing that the device is receiving  tempo data, transport pulses and sync signal.
The green and white leds normally start flashing when the start button of the DAW is pushed. After this the device starts receiving signals from a channel on which its software is initiated from within the DAW.
This is happening also when Aurora is in standby mode.
When connected to a pair of analog outputs from Aurora The dev,ce starts receiving signals right away also when Aurora is in standby mode.Confused
I read the manual of Aurora and LT-TB searching for a clue but couldn’t find a solution to this major problem of mine.My whole system depends on this and i really need to solve this problem.
I ve been talking to the manufacturer of the device and he told me that there are hundreds of customers who are using Cynqlock with Lynx Aurora without any problems and there has to be something wrong on my side which i believe to be true.
I d be grateful if someone can please help me solve this problem.
Please.

I don't see a product called Cynq Lock on the Innerclock website. Do you have a link for the product that you are using?

Can't see any reason it would give you trouble. Perhaps you can do a loop recording with a sine wave, and see if the recorded file matches the original. If so, the Aurora should have no trouble outputting the reference tone that this app uses.

Hi Paul,

Aurora outputs the reference tone and it does everything it is expected to do.

The problem is, it outputs something else that cynqlock perceives as a reference tone.

Sync gen 2 is the software that generates the reference tone. This reference tone is routed through the outputs of an audio interface to cynqlock.
Without the mentioned software cynqlock can not receive the reference tone.

When connected to the outputs of Aurora cynqlock starts receiving some signal right away. This is just some random unknown signal which makes Cynqlock behave in an unexpected way.

Even after i start the sync gen 2 software and output the reference tone this unknown signal coming out of Aurora outputs interfere with the reference tone and makes it impossible for cynqlock to work properly.

Hello Paul

It was the XLR breakout looms causing the problem.

Its all good now nothing to do with Aurora.

Thank you for being very helpful.
