Topic: serious problem with 2 AES 16e with OSX 10.11 Posted: May/16/2016 at 1:13am |
I have my studio unused by a serious problem since I upgraded to OSX 10.11 and the latest firmware on my two cards AES 16e. Everything worked well until then. But to update some channels have ceased to operate and do not send any signal or do it with loud noises in the input channels. I have checked cables, I have tested preamp and converters I took two months I'm going to go crazy and with the standing study! I have removed all the possibilities in the audio chain testing with different audio equipment and the conclusion is that the problem is due to incompatibility of my AES 16e with OSX 10.11. I upgraded because I saw in the properties that the last firmware was compatible with OSX 10.11. My setup is as follows: -2 AES 16e connected to an external clock. -Mac Pro OSX El Capitan last version. -Cubase Pro 8.5 Please, I need help, this is costing me lots of money and time and need to urgently find solution and that everything will work as before. Thank you.

Sorry you are having this issue. Are you clocking to Word Clock or the AES stream? If WC, are both cards set to EXTERNAL? If AES, are they set to DIGITAL IN 1? Also, is this the firmware you have installed? And this should be the driver...

thank for your quick answer, I'm clocking to Word Clock and both cards are properly set to EXTERNAL. The firmware installed is what you recommend: Build 58. Thanks Mike.

Hi,
You are very welcome.
Build 58 is actually the driver. Do you have Firmware 13.2 installed on the card? You can check in Lynx Mixer/About Lynx Mixer

I've been researching a little more in the system and I have discovered that it does not work as an "aggregate device" audio system. There is only output sound when I select as output the card I have installed in slot 3 (the other I have installed in slot 4). I remember that before the updates everything worked correctly.

Hi,
First, is DRIFT unchecked for all devices in the Aggregate? It needs to be...
Can you RESTORE DEFAULTS within Lynx Mixer? You will then need to set each card to EXT SYNC again.
I am assuming you are using our CBL-AES1604 breakout cables on the cards...?

Hi Mike, one of the cards had checked the box drift. I have disabled it, I restarted and it has begun to work normally, already signal appears on all channels used, from different converters to shipments to external effects and returns and no noises. I want to try everything in depth because, after several months with the problem, yet not I just believe that everything will work. I think that before updating the firmware of my cards, I will consult you. I want to thank you for the wonderful service, (sorry for delays in responses due to the time difference in hours from Malaga, Spain)
