I am running ProtTools 11 on a Mac Mini 16 Gb RAM I7 Processor, OSX 10.8.5. I connect through an AES16e card housed in an Echo express chassis with thunderbolt connection.
I recently had to have another piece of equipment serviced (summing mixer) and didn't use the Aurora for a few weeks and had to use an MBox. With the return of my summing mixer I reconnected the system and now playback has a digital distortion the music is barely recognizable.
Checked all connections, Aurora is running as the clock source, tried the reset (Power cord, hold power button etc). The synchro lock is firm, aurora is recognized etc etc.
What next?

Messaging to myself I resolved the problem it was competing clocks the Aurora was set to interanl and so was the AES card. problem solved!
