Try restoring defaults on the 16. Here are the steps:
1. Power down the Aurora
2. Pull the AC power cable
3. Press and hold the Sample Rate button while plugging the unit back in.
4. Wait about 2 seconds, release the Sample Rate button
5. Power up the Aurora with the front panel switch.

If the problem remains, you are probably right that it needs service. Send your name, address, phone number and unit's serial number to support@lynxstudio.com to request an RMA.

Thank you for the reply. There is no activity. Switch cables, there is no difference. The hum is with no computer connected. It used to go away after some hard resets, and now it is persistent. Thanks again for your efforts!

Do you see meter activity for channel 2 even if the digilink cable is disconnected?

Hi there, I've been battling an issue with an Aurora 16 (firmware 2.4) at a studio I work at for quite some time. It never has really worked perfectly, but now we've upgraded to Pro Tools HD, and have the LT-HD card installed. Anyway, upon powering on the Aurora, I have that connected to a Presonus Central Station. Without even turning on the computer, there is a constant hum only on channel 2. I have tried hard resetting it multiple times and occasionally it works. Eventually when it does stop humming, I open Pro Tools, create a track and press play. It is routed to come out of A 1-2 and the Aurora lights up on output channels 2 and 3 but nothing is actually coming out of the analog outputs. Now just to do some trouble shooting, we also have an Aurora 8 at the studio. So as anyone would try, we put the Aurora 8 in place. There is no hum on channel 2, yet Pro Tools still has trouble. I'm doing clean installs of Pro Tools tomorrow to see if that helps with the 8, but I really feel the 16 needs to go in for service. It's got some demons. Any help is greatly appreciated!
