If the problems get worse over time, you might check some power management catalysts. Make sure that EIST (Speedstep) and C States are disabled in your BIOS. Also, make sure that your Windows Power Profile is set to high Performance.
What is the SYNC SOURCE that the Hilo is set to? You might want to run DPC Latency checker and see if there are any spikes showing up too. |

Hi Paul.
Thanks much for the reply. The machine is dual processor server exclusive to the studio and the BIOS is optimized for that purpose. The settings you mentioned are set as you indicated. Additionally, all settings in Windows 7 are optimized as well. DPC Latency Checker consistenstly showed values in the low 70 microsecs to early 80 microsecs. I'm using the Hilo as the clock master. (So SyncLocking the AES16 to it.) I will temper my assertion of the ASIO problems seeming to increase over time by saying that they are not based on measured observations. It could be that they do not as often as they appear to. |

Whenever we hear of audio glitching problems increasing over time, that tells us that the clocking is not setup correctly. The two clocks are close when the audio starts, and slowly drift apart - then there is audio breakup. You need to double check that the AES16e is actually set to sync from the Hilo. What is the Preferred Clock Source and the Current Source showing in the Adapter panel of Lynx Mixer?

Hi David.
Thanks for entering the discussion. There is no problem with the clocking. Hilo is set to Internal and the AES16e is SynchroLocked to Digitial In 1 coming form the Hilo. The clocking works flawlessly even when I change sample rates. I keep the Hilo Remote and Lynx Mixer open frequently so that I can change the fader values if/when needed. Thus the clock lock is always on display. Cheers IWM |

Any difference if you disable ASIO Guard?

Hi guys. Sorry for the long time I couldn't contribute.
For a while, I was using Cubase with Asio Guard disabled. (had no chance of working otherwise) So today I tried it again with 8.0.30 and unfortunately the problem is still there. By the way, in my experience, this is the only problem in Cubase+Lynx combination. Everything else works like a charm. I still want to be able to use the Asio Guard, because I've seen that huge orchestral projects benefit from it. Thanks for the support. sonic |

It is OK to bump, but we don't have any new information for you. Steinberg says they fixed this with 8.0.30. Not sure what else we can do since we are not able to reproduce the problem.
Does it matter what sample rate you run at? |
