Dear sirs,
I am an owner of a Lynx Two - A PCI card... I am in the process of building a new pc and I have three questions for you... 1) Will you make new drivers for the upcoming Windows 10 ? 2) Is this card compatible with this motherboard http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4949#ov GA-Z97X-SOC Force (rev. 1.0), taking in mind the dropout problems that occur with gigabyte mobos ? 3) Do you think this http://www.peak-system.com/PCI-Express-PCIe-104-Adapter.269.0.html?&L=1PCI express to PCI adapter is cabaple of supplying 12v without problems ? Thanks in advance, John Kanidis

Hi John,
1.) We don't foresee a problem, but we can't commit to new Operating Systems until they are shipping. 2.) With the shipping firmware for the LynxTWO this board will likely not work at all. However, we do have some beta firmware that has worked well for other customers with a similar GigaByte board. I could get that to you. 3.) So far, we have not encountered any PCIe to PCI adapters that do work with the LynxTWO cards. Its really hard to offer any assurance without testing it ourselves.

Thanks Paul for your fast answer !
Some more questions for you: Will this beta firmware be able to rollback to normal firmware after i change it ? This change should be made with a working mobo-lynx right ? Can you let me know which users have tried this beta firmware so I could get in contact with them and ask them more details ? Can you suggest ASUS z97 motherboards that could work fine with the LYNX TWO-A pci card ? Thanks, John

Hi John,
Correct, it can be rolled back and ideally should be performed with a properly working motherboard
I would not be able to release customer information like that. I tested the firmware on a GB Z68 board that would not pass audio at all and it worked flawlessly after the update. This has been replicated on other systems with newer sandybridge boards.
The Z97A and its variants seem to work fine. I have not heard reports of any Asus Z97 boards performing badly with the PCI cards.

Dear Paul, Does the following mean that the LYNX TWO card now works properly with Gigabyte mobos ? Firmware Revision History
Version 1.02.26 June 2, 2015
Thanks, John Kanidis PS Also now that Windows 10 is out there, is a new driver on its way ? :)

Yes, the LynxTWO-A should work fine in GigaByte motherboards. Do will need to do the actual updating process on a motherboard without a bridge chip.
No need for a new driver. Build 22 works fine with Windows 10. Edited by David A Hoatson - August/02/2015 at 4:30pm |

I have the old PCI AES-16 and PCI AES-16SRC cards. Do the most recent drivers work with Windows 10?
Thanks!

Does this have anything to do with GigaByte motherboards (the topic of this thread)?
Build 22 driver will work with Windows 10, but the AES16/AES16-SRC will not work with GigaByte motherboards with the ITE bridge chip. |
