Hello,
it's all in the title.
I have a AES 16e in my Mac Pro,
and because I cannot use my Aurora with my laptop,
I'm thinking of getting the USB card.
My question, is;

What am I losing over the AES 16e (appart from AES connectivity) ?
Is it the same performance ? If not , why?

Thank you!

USB has more latency then AES. The reason is in the USB format which adds buffering.

LT-USB will give you 16 channels up to 96KHz and 8 channels up to 192KHz, again due to the throughput of USB vs. AES.

Some customers are opting for an expansion chassis to keep using their AES16e but this of course depends on the laptop's connectivity options.

Thank you, that is good to know,
Will the latency be good enough to record and monitor through Pro Tools on a 2009 Mac Book Pro?

Hi,

You're very welcome.

You will need to monitor via hardware monitoring, and that is done in the Aurora Remote Control.
