Hi guys - just got me a Hilo, which seems perfect for my home setup.  Singer/songwriter looking for a great recording chain on 1 or 2 channels + digital mixer + monitor source + headphones amp.

Before I break my Hilo, can I ask if this is the correct order of setup?

1. Connect Hilo to computer via USB, and power it up, then turn on PC.
2. Install USB driver v2.2 on the PC (no earlier Hilo drivers on it to remove)
3. Install Firmware 6.1B for Win (Hilo came with v5 firmware)
4. Install Remote V1 for Win
5. Power everything down.
6. Plug in everything else to Hilo (including SPDIF optical from Motif and SPDIF coax from Eleven Rack - is that OK to have SPDIF on both of those two inputs?)
7. Power up stuff attached to Hilo
8. Power up computer
9. Rock off into the sunset

Thanks!

Thank you for your purchase, we appreciate it. We think you'll really enjoy the audio quality and versatility of Hilo.

A few things:

1. After upgrading to 6.1 make sure you power down Hilo using the rear power switch so that it is a "hard" reboot and not just Standby (as with the front button);

2. You can certainly keep all digital connections connected but remember you will be choosing which one to use, either manually or via Scene Store/Recall;

3. Rock off into the sunset....but bring Hilo with you.... Wink

Excellent. Thanks. Done and done and working well.

Btw, one thing that made me comfortable about this investment was how quickly you all respond to folks in this forum.
